Welcome to Whatagraph IQ, the AI-powered set of features designed to revolutionize your reporting process. With IQ, you can build, style, and analyze comprehensive reports by giving generic or very advanced commands. This guide will walk you through the core features of Whatagraph IQ and how to use them to save time and gain deeper insights from your data. It will also introduce you to IQ+ which is an extension providing even more capabilities.


Building an Entire Report from a Single Prompt

Go from a blank canvas to a complete report in seconds. Instead of manually dragging and dropping widgets, you can now generate a full report structure with a single command.

How to get started:

  1. Click to create a report like you normally would, and select a data source.

  2. In the prompt area, type a sentence describing the report you need (e.g., "Create a Google Analytics report showing user acquisition and engagement for the last 30 days"). You can also use one of the suggested prompts.

  3. Whatagraph IQ will instantly build the report by pulling the correct metrics and applying the necessary filters.

You can make changes to any widget by clicking on it and typing your edit into the prompt box. The changes will be reflected almost immediately.

Adding New Widgets and Tabs

Easily expand your report by adding new tabs or individual widgets using AI.

  • To Add a New Tab: Select a source, and either choose a preset prompt or write your own to build out a full, detailed tab in seconds.

  • To Add an Individual Widget: Use the AI widget builder that can be activated by a right mouse click on the report grid. Select from preset options or type your specific request (e.g., "Show me a line chart of conversions from Facebook Ads this quarter").

Styling Your Report with AI

A great report is not only insightful but also visually appealing. IQ can help you style your report to match your brand's aesthetic.

You have two options for styling:

  1. Use a Custom Prompt: Enhance existing themes or create new ones by describing the look you want (e.g., "Create a dark mode theme with blue accents").

  2. Select a primary colour: Select the primary colour manually and IQ will use that as inspiration to style other elements around it.

  3. Upload an Image: If you're unsure what to ask for, upload an image, logo, or icon. IQ will use it as inspiration to color the report background, widgets, and chart lines.

You can still make manual edits to the design after the AI has generated the theme.

Chat with Your Data Using IQ Chat

Sometimes the answers you need aren't immediately visible in the report. This is where IQ Chat comes in. Treat it as your personal data assistant.

You can ask IQ Chat questions like:

  • General questions: "What was our top-performing channel last month?"

  • Detailed questions: "Compare the click-through rate of our summer campaign to our spring campaign."

  • Suggestions and recommendations: "What actions can we take to improve our conversion rate?"

IQ Chat can analyze data both inside and outside your current report to provide quick answers and context.

Generating Insights with AI Text Summaries

Prevent misunderstandings and tell the story behind your data by adding AI-generated text summaries to your widgets and reports.

Instead of typing out your observations, instruct the IQ-powered text widget to generate insights for you. This not only helps the end-reader understand the data but also helps you, the creator, identify key trends and potential actions.

Automating Report Summaries with IQ Plus

For teams managing large reporting volumes, you can fully automate the creation of insights. With the IQ Plus feature, your report summaries stay up-to-date automatically.

When the report's date range changes, IQ Plus proactively rewrites the summaries to reflect the new data. This ensures your insights are always current without any manual effort. You can disable this option at any time to make custom edits.

Organizing Data with Custom Dimensions with IQ Plus

Standardizing data across can be challenging. IQ Plus helps you categorize and group your data effortlessly by any dimension that you can get your hands on. Select the dimension you wish to categorize and tell the IQ how you want to group a dimension (like "Campaign Name") by providing a few examples or a general instruction. The AI will create a new custom dimension, grouping your selected dimension accordingly. This feature can be used to normalize any dimension, saving significant manual effort.
