Why do I see sample data in my report?

Sample data appears in widgets that aren't connected to a real source - usually when you create a report from a template. Here's how to swap it for your own data.

Sample data is placeholder content shown in widgets that aren't yet linked to a real source. It exists so you can preview a report's layout, widgets, and design before connecting your own data.

You'll most often see it after creating a report from a Team Template or the public template gallery - both show with placeholder widgets you need to connect to your own source. It can also appear if a source the report was using has been disconnected or removed, the widgets will then be reverted to sample data.

To replace sample data with your own:

Step 1. Click "Change" - either in the sample data pop-up or in the Sources section at the top of the report.

Step 2. Select the source you want to use. You can pick more than one if the report's widgets pull from different sources.

Step 3. Click "Save Selection". The widgets refresh with real data from the source you picked. šŸŽ‰

Note: If the source you need isn't in the list, you need to connect it first. Go to Data Sources > "+ Connect new source" to add it, then come back to the report and repeat the steps above.
