Meta deprecated a set of Facebook Page Insights metrics from their API on June 15, 2026. This is part of Meta's ongoing effort to align the Page Insights API with the Facebook app and Meta Business Suite. If your Whatagraph reports use any of the affected metrics, those widgets will show a "Metric is no longer available. Please update widget data." message.
This is a change made by Meta at the platform level. It affects all third-party reporting tools that use the Facebook Page Insights API, including Whatagraph.
What changed
Meta retired several categories of Facebook Page metrics and replaced some of them with new equivalents:
Impressions is replaced by Views. Where your widgets previously used Impressions to measure how many times your page content was displayed, the replacement metric is Views. This applies at both the page level and the post level.
Reach is replaced by Unique views. Where your widgets previously used Reach to measure how many unique accounts saw your content, the replacement metric is Unique views. This applies at the page level, the post level, and for Reels.
Page Fans (Likes) is replaced by Followers. The legacy Page Fans metric counted users who liked your page. The replacement is the Followers metric. Fans by city and Fans by country are replaced by Followers by city and Followers by country. New Likes is replaced by Started following.
Important: The replacement metrics are similar in concept but use a different counting methodology. Views can be higher than old Impressions because Meta now counts repeat views. Unique views is typically lower than old Reach (industry estimates suggest a ~20-40% drop). This reflects how Meta now measures content performance, not a problem with your Whatagraph setup. Likes to Followers is approximately the same value and safe to swap.
Metrics removed without a replacement
Meta also removed a large set of metrics that have no equivalent in their new API. Widgets using any of these metrics cannot be automatically migrated and need to be updated or removed manually.
Paid, organic, viral, and non-viral breakdowns of Reach and Impressions. Meta no longer provides a paid vs. organic or viral vs. non-viral split as a unique-user metric. The new Unique views and Views metrics report a combined total only. This breakdown is gone entirely and cannot be reproduced by any reporting tool.
Reach by age, gender, city, country, and locale. All page-level Reach demographic breakdowns have been removed.
All-posts impressions family. The aggregate impressions and reach metrics across all posts on the page have been removed.
Engagement metrics. Page Engaged Users, Post Engaged Users, Page Consumptions (and the unique variant), and Page CTA Clicks are all deprecated with no replacement.
Fan and follower change metrics (unique variants). New Likes (unique), Unlikes / Fan Removes (and the unique variant), fan demographics, and fans by like-source have been removed.
3-second unique video views. Page Video Views (unique), Post Video Views (unique), Post Video Views Organic (unique), and Post Video Views Paid (unique) are all deprecated.
Note: For the full set of affected API field names, see Meta's deprecated metrics documentation.
How to fix affected widgets
When you open a report that uses deprecated Facebook Page metrics, the affected widgets display an error message instead of data.
Step 1. Click on the widget showing the error to select it.
Step 2. In the right-hand drawer, open the Data tab and check which metric is selected.
Step 3. Remove the deprecated metric and select one of the available replacements (for example, switch from Impressions to Views, or from Reach to Unique views).
Step 4. If the widget used a metric that has no replacement (such as Paid Reach or Reach by city), you will need to either choose a different metric that fits your reporting needs or remove the widget entirely.
Step 5. Click "Done" to save your changes.
Repeat this for every widget in the report that shows the error.
Tip: Use your browser's find function (Ctrl+F / Cmd+F) on the report in edit mode to scan for error messages across all tabs quickly. Check each tab individually, since widgets on other tabs may also be affected.
What about universal metrics, blends, and data transfers?
If you created universal metrics in Organize that reference any of the deprecated Facebook Page fields, those universal metrics will also stop returning data. Open the Organize workspace from the left navigation, find the affected universal metric, and update its mapping to use the new replacement field (for example, remap from Impressions to Views).
Blends that include deprecated Facebook Page metrics as one of their columns will show empty or error values for that column. Edit the blend and swap the deprecated metric for its replacement.
Data transfer configurations that export deprecated metrics to BigQuery or Google Sheets are also affected. Direct-replacement metrics will be remapped while keeping your destination column names stable. For no-replacement metrics, edit the transfer in Data transfer (left navigation) and remove the affected fields.
