If you want to use custom domain feature, first of all you have to have a whitelabel plan and then contact our support or our sales guy you personally communicate with to ask for this feature. This is a feature that needs to be turned on manually by our technical team and also you need to do something on your side first:
A, DKIM and SPF records
Think of the domain or subdomain you want to be used for links to reports and for sending emails from Whatagraph. Then you'll have to create several DNS records. If you don't know how to do this, ask your system administrator or technical guy to do that for you, whom you know is responsible for managing your domain.
- Create DNS record for SUBDOMAIN.DOMAIN.COM with type "A" pointing to 126.96.36.199 (this is app.whatagraph.com IP address)
- Create TXT DNS record for mandrill._domainkey.SUBDOMAIN.DOMAIN.COM with this line:
v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQCrLHiExVd55zd/IQ/J/mRwSRMAocV/hMB3jXwaHH36d9NaVynQFYV8NaWi69c1veUtRzGt7yAioXqLj7Z4TeEUoOLgrKsn8YnckGs9i3B3tVFB+Ch/4mPhXWiNfNdynHWBcPcbJ8kjEQ2U8y78dHZj1YeRXXVvWob2OaKynO8/lQIDAQAB;
Some DNS providers require that semicolons be escaped. If your provider requires escaping, use this value instead:
v=DKIM1\; k=rsa\; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQCrLHiExVd55zd/IQ/J/mRwSRMAocV/hMB3jXwaHH36d9NaVynQFYV8NaWi69c1veUtRzGt7yAioXqLj7Z4TeEUoOLgrKsn8YnckGs9i3B3tVFB+Ch/4mPhXWiNfNdynHWBcPcbJ8kjEQ2U8y78dHZj1YeRXXVvWob2OaKynO8/lQIDAQAB\;
3. Create TXT DNS record for your SUBDOMAIN.DOMAIN.COM:
v=spf1 include:spf.mandrillapp.com ?all
If you already have a TXT record with SPF information, you'll need to edit it by adding
include:spf.mandrillapp.com in the record (before the last operator, which is usually
DKIM and SPF records are used for email authentication mechanism. Whatagraph uses Mandrill mail sending service for the secure and quality email sending.
After you add those records, please inform our technical support or sales guy, so we could turn this feature on for you.
P.S. Some hosting and domain providers have their own admin panels, where you can manage your DNS records. For example, you can do this on GoDaddy yourself: https://uk.godaddy.com/help/add-a-cname-record-19236 and https://uk.godaddy.com/help/add-a-txt-record-19232
Please check your provider's information and FAQ if this is possible.
